Filipino Beef Steak

As its name suggests, this delicacy represents tender meat drizzled with lemon and soy sauce. Simple yet extraordinary, this one is perfect when you want to prepare a grand scale dinner or lunch.


Lemon: 1 (juiced)

Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons

White sugar: 1 teaspoon

Salt and pepper: to taste

New York strip steak: 4 pounds (sliced thin)

Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon

Vegetable oil: ¼ cup

Olive oil: 3 tablespoons

Onion: 1 (chopped)

Garlic: 2 cloves (chopped)


Take a small bowl. Combine the soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, sugar, and pepper. In another bowl, place the steak and add the sauce to it. Now, sprinkle some cornstarch to it and coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or an aluminum foil. Refrigerate for at least an hour. You can also choose to refrigerate it overnight. In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Remove the meat from excess liquid and add to the pan. Fry the steak until they are re reddish-pink. Cooking for 2-4 minutes on both sides will make the meat firm in texture and juicy in the center. Remove from the pan and let rest for some time. In the same pan, heat oil. Add onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is golden brown. Pour it over the steak and serve.

Steak with Pork Ingredients

Pork chops: 4 pieces

Soy sauce: 5 tablespoons

Lime: 2 pieces

Cooking oil: ½ cup

Onions: 2 (sliced)

Water: 1 ½ cups

White sugar: ½ teaspoon (granulated)

Salt: to taste

Pepper: to taste


In a large bowl, combine the pork chops, lime juice, and soy sauce. Marinate this for at least an hour. When the meat is ready, heat oil in a pan. Pan-fry the pork chops for 3 minutes on both sides over medium heat. Once the meat is fried, remove from the pan. Also, remove the excess oil. Now, add the remaining marinade and water and let it boil. Add the pork chops again and simmer for at least 40 minutes. You can adjust the timing as per your preference of the texture. Then, add salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir the mixture well until you get a saucy taste. Add the onions and cook for another 5 minutes. Your pork steak is ready to serve.
